The stone itself

Its proper name is prasiolite — "green amethyst" is the poetic nickname, and it's an earned one. This gentle leaf-green quartz is, quite literally, amethyst that changed colour. Deep in the earth — or with careful heat around 500°C — purple amethyst turns this soft, luminous green.
Natural prasiolite is genuinely rare: almost all of it in the world traces back to a single deposit, Montezuma, in Minas Gerais, Brazil. It's a 7 on the Mohs scale. So you're wearing a stone that transformed from one thing into another — which, for this archetype, is rather the whole point.
